it’s the little things…

I'm a bit goofy and always ready to have a good time - I love making clients laugh...it just so happens it's usually at me and some random thing I am doing to get "the shot" - If it's nice outside, I guarantee I will be found sitting in a patch of sunlight soaking in the rays - I tend to miss speak right when I am trying to be sassy, ... so I just end up sounding silly - I love all the noises a new baby makes be it cute or gross - My socks never match and I am proud of it - I avoid cleaning the bathroom like it's the plague. It comes from growing up with two brothers and always being on bathroom duty - I found out the hard way that garlic does NOT compliment everything... and now my husband doesn't let me in the kitchen unsupervised - I still get giddy and jittery before every wedding I photograph - I once thought the biggest gift of being self employed was making my own hours, now I know it's the luxury it gives me to raise my son (born April 2011) without the need of daycare - I love riding my bike, but don't have the constitution to make myself work out regularly - I believe that following your dream is not the easiest path but is definitely the most rewarding one. My dreams since I was 18 was to find the man of my dreams (check), raise a family (check) and create images for a living (check) - oh... and if you want to make me laugh, tell me a poop joke. Works EVERY time.

Ty | Family Sessions in the Park | Ellensburg

Last week I was in Ellensburg to visit family and had decided before I went to see if anyone was interested in a mini photo session in the park while I was there. Well, Mandy heard about it and brought out little Ty to play and get some photos.

Ty is 3 and adorable! He was a bit bashful at first, but, trust me, that didn’t last long. We ran around and played on the stone sculptures at Irene Rinehart Park, and then went and played on a bridge by the water. It was a lot of fun and can’t wait till I go back to do another day of mini sessions!

Hayden | 8 months

You might remember little Hayden from our last shoot when he was just a tender one month old! And if you don’t remember, than you can find his post here). He was just as adorable then as he is now, but he is definitely more mobile now! I met up with Kelly, Eric and little Hayden last weekend for a fun holiday shoot to mark little Hayden getting bigger.

We started out inside on the same ottoman as he was on in the last shoot (but now he takes up quite a bit more room on it) and then headed outside for a unusually beautiful November day on Queen Anne. Hayden was such a trooper even with the wind blowing everywhere!

I love this picture, as he was just stopping crying, and you can still see the tear in his eye. He shortly there after decided not to be scared of my camera, but curious of it instead. Much better! re_091122_0513

Baby Gracie | 4 months

Back in July I offered to donate an hour of my services and a $100 print credit to Loyal Heights School Auction. I like donating to auctions for schools and charity events because it is awesome to be able to help out in some way! So, the auction was in July and Amy and Michael were there and expecting their first child. When they saw my auction item, they new that they would love to have photos… and not the JC Pennys variety when their little girl was born. So they bid… and they won! And this past weekend I was able to finally meet them and little Gracie.

Gracie is an adorable little girl. She is four months old and very interested in everything around her. She has this adorable little one sided smirk that she gives and made my heart melt. Just wait till she is a bit older, she will have her parents wrapped around her finger quite tightly… and I doubt they will mind!

Little Alex | 9 months!

You might remember little Alex from back around May when his parents Leslie and Carl invited me over to capture the little guy at 3 months. You can see the blog post here. Well, they called me up a couple weeks ago because little Alex is now 9 months… and much more mobile! So I came over for another little play date and saw Alex again. He was just a bunch of smiles…. as long as he was moving. I bet after 9 months of not being super mobile, once you realize you can move of your own accord, the idea of sitting still would not be a choice! So little Alex walked all over the place with a little assistance from Leslie and Carl. I can’t wait till I see this little guy again when he will be running circles around all of us!

Baby Nik at 10 weeks!

A couple of months back, I met Jamie and Nik who were expecting their first son. We met for maternity photos and roamed a bit around Alki (in the freezing wind!) for some shots and some tasty chowder!

Well, needless to say, months passed and little baby Nik showed up on time and healthy… a couple months more and I am back to capture the new family and to try and get a smile out of little Nik! Nik had his own ideas of how they day was to go, but ended up getting some fun shots… including not only the Sea-Hawks onesy but a Harley Davidson one as well!
