Wedding | MonteVilla Farmhouse, Bothell, WA | Alison + Russ

Wedding photography at Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell,Wa. By Rebecca Ellison Photography

You know how sometimes you meet people and you know instantly that they are your type of people? People that just click with you?

Well, that is what it felt like about 3 minutes into the first meeting I had with Alison and Russ. These two  are so down to earth and such open and honest souls, that I loved them right off the bat. And what is even better? When I get just as excited for their wedding as they are because I know that it was the perfect step for these two as people and as a couple.

Well, that was over a year ago now, that I met Alison and Russ, and I got to know them even better through our meetings and their awesome UW engagement session this spring. I love when couples are down to try fun things in photos:)

So, they were married on the last weekend of August on a overcast but still nice and warm day at the MonteVilla Farmhouse in Bothell. The excitement was obvious in both the girls and boys rooms. These two have been together for almost 10 years… so everyone  was excited to see their union move into foreverland…

It’s not very often the toast’s come with props, but I loved Diana’s (MOH) prop. Gotta love a teenager’s desperate need to make their hair anything but what it is naturally. But, I think everyone agrees, Alison’s curly hair is beautiful now that she embraces it!Wedding photography at Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell,Wa. By Rebecca Ellison Photography

And I loved that Alison had a special dance with her brothers to Simon and Garfunkel’s “You can call me Al” because of a childhood nickname! That entire wedding party had some awesome dance moves!Wedding photography at Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell,Wa. By Rebecca Ellison Photography

Russ used to work at a restaurant that served this sangria, and when he got engaged last year, the restaurant brewed a batch and let it mix for the whole year in anticipation of the wedding! I heard it was out of this world good!Wedding photography at Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell,Wa. By Rebecca Ellison Photography

Photobooth | Arlington, WA | Paige and Ian’s Wedding

Paige and Ian wanted a photobooth to add to their wedding, which, seeing that Paige is one talented photographer herself, I totally understood.

What better thing to have at a photographers wedding then a way to goof off in front of the camera, which we know from their wedding post, the bridal party was all game!

Their photobooth was a slew of fun, and Paige and Ian are going to have a blast going through all the pictures when they get them. But till then, here is a “highlight reel” if you will!

Splendid Details : Family

Family is a funny concept. There are people who are your blood who you never seem to see and completely loose track of but they are family. And then there is the family that you make. The people you choose to include in your life and try to keep track of through all kinds of distance, even though, technically speaking, they are not family. It’s these people that, in my heart, are that much more than family.

I am a firm believer that the family you choose is just as strong if not stronger than the family you get by default. That is what this group is to me. Family.

20 years ago, we were together all the time, living on a huge beautiful peace of property in Tucson, Arizona. Three families living to together, the Ingrahams (my maiden name), the Hancocks and the Chapins.  I was the youngest of the group by some years, but  Christina, Sandy (not here), Marie, Brotherhood, Rec, Josh, Caleb and I were all one big group of kids running amuk probably driving our parents collectively insane… and now, twenty years later we were all {almost} back together again yesterday, in Arlington, WA, reconnecting.

Some still live in Tucson, some in Maui, some in Seattle/Everett, and some in Ellensburg, but yesterday we all made it back together like old times. Add our spouses (Pete couldn’t make it because of work sadly) and a new generation of kiddos running around, we are now the parents. The adults. And we are still family, growing new families.
I treasured yesterday and the memories and reconnections in made. I love you all! And can’t wait to see you all again in Maui, next for Rec and Lisa’s wedding:)

Wedding | Arlington, Washington | Paige and Ian

Paige and Ian were married at a beautiful farmstead in Arlington; a friend of the families who was willing to share their land to help celebrate Paige and Ian’s union. And celebrate they did!

Their day was full of festivities and fun after their beautiful ceremony at the edge of a river. Paige and Ian thought of everything, from lawn games to play during cocktail hour, to customized wine glasses and pint glasses etched with the McLeod crest to celebrate their heritage, a photobooth and bonfire with camping for those who didn’t want to travel back home after the partying was over. It was a beautiful day that was made that much more touching by the love the couple had for their friends and family and eachother.

I LOVED Paige’s shoes. Who couldn’t use some Jimmy Choo’s?

Their flower girls were absolutely adorable. The youngest one didn’t really know what to think of pictures though….

Ian and his boys were mounds of laughter. Always joking and ready for some ridiculous pictures for the camera.

I loved all the details!  The treehouse was the honeymoon suite for the couple! And below are the fun glasses with the McLeod crest

Nothing quite like being married in a field on the bank of a river with a piano playing in the background!

love this outtake of their photo booth. There are lots of great moments from their photobooth coming up soon!

Get Hitched Give Hope Media Launch Party

Yep… Get Hitched Give Hope is right around the corner (WHAT??) on October 28th!

Well, in prep for that, we had a fabulous media launch party in August for all our amazing vendors who are giving their time, talent and services to our event.  The Seattle wedding community is really one amazing and giving community, and I can’t say how proud I am to be a part of it!

Here are some fun shots from the media party! If you were a participant there, and are interested in getting pictures, I do have them for sale here, and 30% of the total goes back to Get Hitched Give Hope!

Get Hitched Give Hope

The media launch party was hosted at the Arctic Club hotel, where our last two GHGH events have taken place. We were in the amazing dome room. That room always takes my breath away!

This year, for the main event, we have moved on to a larger space (for more fabulous givers to come!) at the downtown Four Seasons Hotel.
