  • it’s the little things…

I'm a bit goofy and always ready to have a good time - I love making clients laugh...it just so happens it's usually at me and some random thing I am doing to get "the shot" - If it's nice outside, I guarantee I will be found sitting in a patch of sunlight soaking in the rays - I tend to miss speak right when I am trying to be sassy, ... so I just end up sounding silly - I love all the noises a new baby makes be it cute or gross - My socks never match and I am proud of it - I avoid cleaning the bathroom like it's the plague. It comes from growing up with two brothers and always being on bathroom duty - I found out the hard way that garlic does NOT compliment everything... and now my husband doesn't let me in the kitchen unsupervised - I still get giddy and jittery before every wedding I photograph - I once thought the biggest gift of being self employed was making my own hours, now I know it's the luxury it gives me to raise my son (born April 2011) without the need of daycare - I love riding my bike, but don't have the constitution to make myself work out regularly - I believe that following your dream is not the easiest path but is definitely the most rewarding one. My dreams since I was 18 was to find the man of my dreams (check), raise a family (check) and create images for a living (check) - oh... and if you want to make me laugh, tell me a poop joke. Works EVERY time.

Married | Snoqualmie Point Park | Allie + Noah

portraits of bride and groom

Noah and Allie were married on August 21, 2010 at the Snoqualmie Point Park. The day was a beautiful August day. Overcast, but bright and warm. A perfect day for a park wedding looking out over North Bend (which is about 30 miles east of Seattle at the base of the Cascade Mountains). They got ready at Noah’s parents beautiful house in North Bend where they had spent a couple years living while saving to buy their own house. The Smith house was a perfect spot for their intimate wedding, as it helped showcase the intimacy of the event, while being a beautiful backdrop to spend their reception under a tent in the backyard.

Allie was radiant while getting ready, which says something for the girl seeing that she got a bit of food poisoning the night before. Nothing was going to stop her having a beautiful day, she took it all with a smile and the graciousness she always gives people… just kept a bottle of Gatorade nearby. Luckily she was feeling a lot better by the time she walked down the aisle, and saw Noah’s beaming face waiting for her.wedding dress, shoes and gartergroom getting ready with his boys

Leave it to the boys to make sure to get their mimosa action on early!  And if you are wondering, the cute groomsmen in the hat is my hubby Pete. He was Noah’s groomsman just like Noah was in our wedding. We have known this couple for a LONG time:)  and I was honored to be requested to be their photographer.bride and groom portraitsbride and groom portraitswedding rings

Allie walked down the aisle with this little bible. This bible has made through 5 generations of Smith families. All brides in the family that have carried this little bible down the aisle with them on the their wedding day have had long happy marriages. It is a tradition to continue! It’s a good thing that they aren’t required to read from it though, as it is in German…dad walking bride down the aislewedding ceremony

It isn’t uncommon to shed a tear or two at weddings for me. They are such amazing affairs with such heart in them that on many occasions I find myself wiping tears from my eyes while trying to focus:P  and this wedding was no different. They were sweet and touching and 100% into eachother. I love this last series as I don’t think I have ever seen two guys be so eager to catch the garter… ladies, yes… but usually not the guys. One of them slipped on the pavement with his fancy dress shoes, that I doubt keep any traction, so he ended up getting the garter for sure perseverance.
