  • it’s the little things…

I'm a bit goofy and always ready to have a good time - I love making clients laugh...it just so happens it's usually at me and some random thing I am doing to get "the shot" - If it's nice outside, I guarantee I will be found sitting in a patch of sunlight soaking in the rays - I tend to miss speak right when I am trying to be sassy, ... so I just end up sounding silly - I love all the noises a new baby makes be it cute or gross - My socks never match and I am proud of it - I avoid cleaning the bathroom like it's the plague. It comes from growing up with two brothers and always being on bathroom duty - I found out the hard way that garlic does NOT compliment everything... and now my husband doesn't let me in the kitchen unsupervised - I still get giddy and jittery before every wedding I photograph - I once thought the biggest gift of being self employed was making my own hours, now I know it's the luxury it gives me to raise my son (born April 2011) without the need of daycare - I love riding my bike, but don't have the constitution to make myself work out regularly - I believe that following your dream is not the easiest path but is definitely the most rewarding one. My dreams since I was 18 was to find the man of my dreams (check), raise a family (check) and create images for a living (check) - oh... and if you want to make me laugh, tell me a poop joke. Works EVERY time.

Sneak Peak of Baby Mateus

I photographed Lydia back in August while little baby Mateus was still in the oven. We had a blast goofing off and taking picutres that day.¬† Here are some photos from that session!re_080812_9337-2re_080812_9356-editre_080812_9387It was great fun to capture Lydia in her beautiful pregnancy.¬† So, of course when little Mateus showed up in November, I was excited to be able to come back and document his little presence in the world. Yesterday I went back to Lydia’s and got to watch a very attentive little Mateus keep his eye on me while we were getting the room ready to take pictures. He was so cute that it was hard to stop taking picutres of him. What was also great to see was Lydia’s older son, 5 year old Clayton every couple minutes would stop his reading game on the computer to come look at his little brother and kiss his brow. It seemed like he just had to make sure that little bro was ok. Clayton is going to be an awesome big brother!re_090121_7746

re_090121_7688re_090121_7709Doesn’t everyone let their baby sleep on the mantle??? Just kidding! Lydia is litterly 2 inchs out of frame just in case he moves. No babies were harmed in the making of this photo:-P

Lydia Claxton - When we first invited Rebecca to our home for the maternity pictures, it wasn’t long until I felt at home in front of the camera (which is a rarity). With both her professionalism and warmth, we were so happy with our time spent with her.

And then our boy was born.

Mateus lives a pampered life – staffed by a doting daddy, within arms reach mommy, and entertaining big brother. Needless to say, what baby wants – baby gets. I was a bit nervous when it was time for pictures. However, with Rebecca’s gentle touch and child-led photo shoot, we were able to capture little Meatloaf in his most natural state… nirvana :)
