  • it’s the little things…

I'm a bit goofy and always ready to have a good time - I love making clients laugh...it just so happens it's usually at me and some random thing I am doing to get "the shot" - If it's nice outside, I guarantee I will be found sitting in a patch of sunlight soaking in the rays - I tend to miss speak right when I am trying to be sassy, ... so I just end up sounding silly - I love all the noises a new baby makes be it cute or gross - My socks never match and I am proud of it - I avoid cleaning the bathroom like it's the plague. It comes from growing up with two brothers and always being on bathroom duty - I found out the hard way that garlic does NOT compliment everything... and now my husband doesn't let me in the kitchen unsupervised - I still get giddy and jittery before every wedding I photograph - I once thought the biggest gift of being self employed was making my own hours, now I know it's the luxury it gives me to raise my son (born April 2011) without the need of daycare - I love riding my bike, but don't have the constitution to make myself work out regularly - I believe that following your dream is not the easiest path but is definitely the most rewarding one. My dreams since I was 18 was to find the man of my dreams (check), raise a family (check) and create images for a living (check) - oh... and if you want to make me laugh, tell me a poop joke. Works EVERY time.

Molly and Matt Happily Ever After…

On Sunday I ventured over to the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland to photograph Molly and Matt’s wedding. Molly and Matt live in Jacksonville, Florida where Molly just graduated from college and Matt is stationed in the Navy, so Molly’s parents were who hired me. I found myself really liking and respecting Molly’s parents when we met and was super happy to have them choose me to photograph the wedding of their youngest daughter.¬† When I finally met Molly on one of her excursions up here for wedding planning, I was just as impressed with her as I was with her parents, which made me that much more excited to shoot her wedding!

So after many months of planning, the day arrived and it couldn’t have been prettier. The Woodmark has this beautiful tent outside looking out on the water of Lake Washington that they use when the weather permits, and even though the forcast had been questionable, and there were a couple rain drops early in the morning, the day cleared to beautiful blue skies and upwards of 70 degrees by the time we started taking pictures, and they had their ceremony against the setting sun. Since Matt and most of his buddies are in the military, the groomsmen wore their dress whites (and one dress blues in the the Marines), and they finished off the ceremony with a sword ceremony of their own. It was quite beautiful.

Here are some of my favorites:

Congrats you two!

Therese White - Hello,

I was the florist (White Flower Design) at the wedding and loved these very creative photographs. Thank you for being so positive and quick to accomodate everyone.

Great job on the whole entire package. I look forward to ordering pictures from you. Was there some pictures of the wonderful string ensemble? I believe their names were the Gothard Sisters http://www.gothardsisters.com/ They were awesome. What a beautiful venue. I bet you had so much fun working with all the various backdrops.

Molly & Matt Miller (the happy couple) - Rebecca did such a wonderful job with the photos! I absolutely cannot wait to see the rest of them! Not only are we blown away by how beautiful the photos turned out, but Rebecca was wonderful to be around the day of the wedding! She was so pleasant and professional throughout the whole day and really kept such great track of all the shots needed and got the family in order to take the family shots. She kept things running on schedule without compromising the number or creativity of the photos! I am so glad that we hired her and would do so in again in a heartbeat. I would highly recommend her to any other bride looking for a photographer in the Seattle area! Thank you so much Rebecca!
